Camp Week #4
The fourth week of Camp begins with Visiting Day. I love seeing kids being embarrased by their parents, especially those fathers who coming with the Khaki shorts, tucked in polo shirt, and high knee socks, rolling a cooler with lunch in it. The middle of the week is highlighted by the new DVD: Division vs. Division activity, in which the FIM/FOT will definitely beat all other divisions in a number of different challenges. Thursday is a sad day as we say goodbye to some of our friends on Changeover Day. On Saturday night, the boys will have their annual Shavuos in August, which basically means we stay up all night playing leagues, watching a movie, and listneing to a shiur, then Davening Vasikin, and having a lazy Sunday morning.

Camp Week #3
The Third week of camp will be a blast. The week will begin with the Alufim heading to Lavi for their Satran Invitational. Those not going will hike to DeeJays and Pizza, with the annual "scary route" back to camp (Highlight of my Summer, I've learned about some scary things back there, hopefully we get lost). On Monday, the girls compete in a intercamp choir competition. The middle of the week is hosted by this Summers Olympics. Instead of four countries, this year we are competing with four different States! The week is capped off with perhaps the most anticipated night of the summer: FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE! Saturday night, cleanup for Visiting Day! This will definitely be an experience for the boys, because my inspection is one to look forward to.

To celebrate the upcoming mark of 45 days left to camp, we're looking to post 45 weird and strange facts about some of our campers and staff members. If you have a weird fact about yourself that no one else knows, email it to us at FimFot09@gmail.com. Winner of strangest fact will recieve a special prize!
Congratulations!
Congratulations to Grilled Cheese for winning the Favorite Camp Lunch award, just beating out Pizza and Ice Chips. I always thought the Grilled Cheese was too hard and that the Cheese was too congealed, but the polls never lie. Stay tuned for the new poll coming soon! Have an idea for a new poll? Email FimFot09@gmail.com!
Caption Contest
So, Diana Bienenfeld believes that her caption was the funniest: "Kor-baaaaaaan Pesach." Although it wasn't much better than some of the other posts, Diana wants free Dee Jays really badly so congratulations Diana, you're the proud winner of Free DeeJays! If you have a funny picture from last summer that you want to be the subject of the new caption contest, send it to FimFot09@gmail.com. Person who sends the funniest picture also gets Dee Jays!

Summer Concert?
Ok So this is a picture of a man named Gordon Thomas. He is 93 years old. Gordon lived in my Grandparents basement for as long as I can remember...very long story of how he got there. Anyway, Gordon is a musician, and possibly the worst musician I've ever heard. His songs are ridiculous. Check out his website at GordonThomas.com. I spoke to Gordon today and he said that he would want to pu on a concert for my campers this Summer. So be excited. Here's a picture of me and Gordon.

Camp Week #2
The second week of camp is jam-packed with exciting events. On Sunday, the Lake Como Leagues begins. This is a league between a number of camps that will run throughout the summer, ending with a Championship at the end of the Summer. This is an oppurtunity to show everyone else that Morasha is the best in athletics. Monday is trip day! We are going White Water Rafting! Sweet! Shiriah will be featured in the second week as well. The second week includes all this and all the regular leagues, amazing night activities, and spontaneous fun things that will always occur during the Fim/Fot summer of 09!
Looking for New Song
When we think about last Summer, the one song that we can't get out of our head is "Time of my Life" by David Cook. Hearing this song just automatically puts pictures in my mind of kids smiling arm in arm, campers wearing color war T-shirts, and Yachad campers doing things. What should be THE SONG this summer? If you have any suggestions for new songs that can be used, let us know at FIMFOT09@Gmail.com.

Camp Week #1
So I decided that maybe I would put up a small summary of each week of camp on the blog, and eventually we can fill up the Calendar which should be available here soon. Alot of awesome things are sceduled for week 1. Opening night should be very very fun. Fim/Fot 09 is lucky this year to have Division Heads who have good connections with the Programming Office, and Division Heads who do everything they can to get things for their campers. We've already scheduled Fim and Fot pool parties. Leagues will start on the second day of camp. G-Squared is in the first week. The girls will be having their annual slumber party in the Mercazia, and the boys will officially become Alufim in the annual Alufim Induction Ceremony! Stay tuned for more announcements!
Road Trip Day #5: Shabbos in Washington
The last and perhaps most memorable day on the trip is Shabbos in Washington. What could be better than spending an awesome Shabbos with all of your friends in a beautiful hotel in our nation's capital? The night before, we will drive to the National Synagouge and help bring a beautiful Shabbos davening to the congregants. This will be followed by a buffet dinner together with people of the community which is always a highlight of the trip. When we go back to the hotel, there will be plenty of food and games to play, and alot of time to bond with your friends. The next day we will go back to the National Synagouge for a beautiful davening, and tremendous Kiddush, and then back to the hotel for either more hanging out, or napping. The highlight of the trip is a great inspiring Sholosh Seudos where we as reflect on our lives in camp, because this is one of our last Shabboses as campers. Saturday night, Glow in the Dark Bowling and Pizza!! Then back to camp!

New Poll...
We need an idea for some new polls now that our other ones are down. If you have a good idea, email FimFot09@gmail.com!
Congratulations...
Congratulations to Effie Wagner and Jessica Feldman for winning the Future Couple of the Summer Poll, followed closely by Alex Yudin and Julia Dachs. Another congratulations goes to Tali Feldman for winning the Who Will Get Rocked in FNL poll. Of course, just because you lost the FNL poll, doesnt mean you're safe from getting made fun of alot in Friday Night Live (watch out Deena). Effie and Jessica will of course ge their fair share of jokes also. If YOU want to be rocked in FNL, just do something stupid during the summer, or go out with someone much younger than you.

Road Trip Day #4: Washington D.C.
So the Friday section of the trip is always changing, and you never know exactly what we are going to do. In past years we've gone Ice Skating, a JetBoat ride, and the National Washington Zoo. But this year we will do things very differently. However, one thing never changes. We will have lunch on the lawn in front of the Washington Monument. This is a great place to chill out, play football or ultimate, and enjoy great pizza. Later in the day we will head to a beautiful hotel where we will be spending the entire weekend. We will daven in the National Synagouge, which is always an interesting experince, but more about Shabbos some other time.

Please Feel Free...
Guys! If you are reading the blog, please send us in ideas for the Summer, for the blog, or any other comments you'd like to make. A few campers have already sent in great ideas, but we would like to hear from as many people as possible. Email us at FimFot09@gmail.com! Thanks alot!
One great idea that an Alufim member had (and if Deena wants to do this, she can feel free) is to have an All-Star Game after the Basketball Leagues are over, with a 3-point shoot out, skills competition, B-B-Q, and more. I think it's a great idea, and it is already put on the schedule.

Road Trip Day #3: Virginia Beach
Day 3 of our trip is highly regarded as the best day. The day starts off biking on the Boardwalk of beautiful Virginia Beach. We ride 2,3, and even 6 person bicycles up and down the boardwalk, and I promise you, its a ton of fun. There are also great shops along the boarwalk, and neigboring streets, and its become almost a tradition to crowd into the Haagen Dazs ice cream store as this day has always been a sunny and beautiful one. Following the boardwalk, we make our way to Motor World, an unbelivable Go-Karting arena with 8 different tracks. Have fun trying to crash the girls into each other and into the walls.

Road Trip Day #2: South Carolina
If you thought walking around Universal Studios was tiring, you're in for a surprise. On Day 2 of the Road Trip, we start with an early wakeup, and a trip to the United States' largest Marines training facility in South Carolina. Here we will see what it is like for someone to train as a Marine, and we will get down and dirty ourselves going through various obstacle courses. Do not get offended when the scary soldiers scream in your face.
After an exhausting morning, it'll be time to wind down and relax at Myrtle Beach's Broadway at the Beach. This outdoor mall hosts a number of interesting stores and shops, as well as a full Aquarium, IMAX theater, and plenty of other interesting attractions. When we get back to the hotel, you'll want to get some rest, because the next day on our trip was voted as the best day by last year's campers...but more about that some other time.
